A vehicle to tow the trailer is not provided, so you will need a 2" ball hitch and the ability to tow a minimum of 2000 GVW. My small, 2 WD, 4 cyl. engine Toyota Tacoma has the ability to pull 3500 lbs, so you might be surprised what your vehicle can pull. Check your vehicle manual.

The trailer does have brakes, an unusual feature for a trailer this small, so if you want to be extra cautious, you might want to have a brake controller installed on your vehicle as well.

The hitch receiver including the wiring for brake lights and turn signals costs roughly $150, and the brake controller is another $125 but is not necessary. U-Haul can install all this for you.

Rent a Travel Trailer with Kayaks

Ever wonder what's it like to camp in a travel trailer?  What about lake kayaking?  Now's your chance to give them a try.  Beginning in spring 2012, Little Green Guesthouse is offering a Chalet Aspen travel trailer with 2 Hobie pedal/paddle kayaks for rent!

With 2 beds (a double and a twin), it sleeps up to 4 people snugly.  It has a sink, 2 burner stove, and table.  You can bring a tent and sleep more people, of course.

The travel trailer and 2 kayaks rent for the same price as the guesthouse with the same policies...$100/night for the first 2 people and no pets.  The trailer is NOT available on special event weekends, because I use it when my house is rented.

The cost of renting the Chalet Aspen and Hobie kayaks includes bed linens, towels, coffee maker, coffee, creamer, pots, pans, utensils, flashlights, life jackets, 2 campfire chairs, and complete instructions on how to use both the trailer and the kayaks.

The price for the travel trailer does not include campsite fees, food, firewood or any cost incurred in allowing your vehicle to tow the trailer.

To rent the Chalet and Hobies, you will need to provide proof of liability insurance issued with your automobile policy specifying trailer rental coverage.
